GUWAHATI, June 28 - A delegation of Sadou Asom Sangbadik Santha yesterday felicitated senior journalist DN Chakravartty with a citation, a japi, a gamosa and a memento at his residence. The citation conferring the title �Sambad Ratna� mentioned Chakravartty�s role, starting off as a sub-editor of The Assam Tribune in the late 1950s and his subsequent editorship of nine Assamese dailies and an English daily during the last four decades. He currently edits a weekly.
The delegation was led by senior journalist Uttam Baruah and included Pradip Deka, assistant general secretary of the Association. The Association also felicitated Chief Editor of Dainik Agradoot Kanak Sen Deka at his residence.
