Semis line-up drawn in junior TT categories

GUWAHATI, Oct 31 � The semifinal line-up has been drawn in the junior groups of the fourth RG Baruah All Assam Major Ranking Table Tennis Championship here at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium.

In cadet boys, Agniv Borgohain (Dibrugarh), Palash P Bora (Duliajan), Udipta Kataky (Sivasagar) and Manabjyoti Bhuyan (Dibrugarh) have entered the semifinals while in the girls section, Trisha Gogoi (Golaghat), Prayashree Boruah (Dibrugarh), Pallavi Thakuri (Guwahati) and Atreyee Goswami (Sivasagar) marched into the semifinal stage.

In sub-junior boys, Sankab Gautam Baruah (Golaghat), Shivashis Bora (Sivasagar), Vivek Bora (Golaghat), Aditya Dey (Guwahati) and in sub-junior girls, Jitakhee Mazumdar, Mouchaki Deka, Adriza Sarma (all Guwahati) and Akankhya Bhuyan (Dibrugarh) became the semifinalists. In the junior girls section, Akankhya Bhuyan (Dibrugarh), Adriza Sarma (Guwahati), Barsha Sinha (Golaghat) and Jitakhee Mazumdar clinched the semifinal berths. Competitions are in full swing in the other groups.

Sitaram Agarwala ID TT from today: The 61st Sitaram Agarwala Inter District and Assam State Table Tennis Championship will begin at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium here from tomorrow.

The tournament has been named after freedom fighter Sitaram Agarwala of Nagaon. District teams from Guwahati, Golaghat, Mangaldai, Jorhat, Sivasagar, Duliajan, Dibrugarh, Nazira, NF Railway, Silchar, Namrup, Tezpur and Nagaon will vie for titles in team and open events (cadet, sub-junior, junior, youth and senior categories). Rising star Bardie Boro will be seen in action during the championship, informed ATTA secretary Tridib Duvarah in a release.
