MANGALDAI, Aug 26 - The newly formed Darrang district unit of the Assam Sports Journalist Association in collaboration with the State Level Advisory Committee for Students and Youth Welfare ), Govt of Assam today organised a seminar on the topic-Sports journalism as a medium for skill development for human resources in Assam, here at the Youth Club auditorium today.
Sports journalists and photo journalist of the State like Subodh Malla Baruah, Pabitra Gogoi, Bidyut Kalita, Anupam Nath and Mrinal Bora, while addressing the seminar as resource persons explained about the vast potentiality to develop once career in the field of sports journalism , sports photo journalism and other relevant fields. An interesting presentation on sports photography was also carried out by Anupam Nath in connection with the seminar.
Earlier, Darrang Deputy Commissioner, Ashok Kr Barman in presence of Rajib Prakash Baruah , State Co-ordinator for Disaster Management, Govt of Assam inaugurated the seminar. Former national level player of Kabaddi player and athlete, now international level masters athlete Kunjalata Boro and former sports and photo journalist and presently Chairman Mangaldai Municipal Board Pratap Bordoloi were felicitated on the occasion. Winners of the sports news reporting contest, which was held before the seminar, were presented certificates and prizes after the seminar which was anchored by Ganesh Dutta, secretary of the Darrang unit of the State sports journalist body.
