Seminar of senior engineers� forum on Feb 20

GUWAHATI, Feb 13 - Senior Engineers� Forum, Guwahati (NE Region) is organising a seminar titled �Urbanisation � it�s Impact on Civic and Rural Population� as part of its 15th foundation day celebration on February 20 in the Panbazar premises of the Institution of Engineers (India), Assam State Centre here, said a press release.

Justice (retd) Dr Aftab Hussain Saikia, Chairman, Human Rights Commission, Meghalaya will be the chief guest, while former chairman of the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) and Tripura Electricity Board Jayanta Barkakoti will be the guest of honour at the function.

The keynote address will be delivered by Dr Chandan Mahanta of IIT-Guwahati. The seminar will also be addressed by a few experts working in this particular field.

Renowned innovator Uddhav Bharali and noted surgeon Dr Illiyas Ali, who have been honoured with the Padmashree by the Union government for their distinguished services to society, will be felicitated at the function along with a few respected elderly engineers of the region.

Awards to the winners of the recently-held �Young Engineers Competition� will also be given away at the event.

Senior Engineers� Forum, Guwahati (NE Region), formed fourteen years ago, is a techno-professional association of senior and retired engineers of various engineering disciplines of the north-eastern region headquartered in Guwahati.
