Security cover of Hagrama restored

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Oct 14 - Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today restored the security cover of BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary after the latter alleged that the State Government was conspiring to finish his political career by reducing his security cover.

The Chief Minister also ordered a high level inquiry and asked Chief Secretary Vinod Kumar Pipersenia to inquire into the chronology of events leading to the reduction of security cover to the BTC Chief.

Gogoi asked the Chief Secretary to inquire into how the security cover of the BTC Chief Hagrama Mohilary has been reduced without consent of the appropriate authority and take action against the offender.

Our Kokrajhar Correspondent adds: Earlier today, Mohilary strongly criticised the State Government for reducing his personal security cover. Talking to media persons at the BTC Secretariat today, Mohilary alleged that the Congress-led State Government is conspiring to finish his political career and that the reduction of the strength of his personal security points to that conspiracy.

Urging the State Government to provide him with adequate security cover, Mohilary said, There is threat to my life and the Government is responsible for this.

Meanwhile, as summoned by the Governor, the one-day Autumn Session of the BTC Assembly was held today. Crucial issues were discussed during the session where ruling and Opposition leaders actively took part.
