MORIGAON, April 22 - The Additional District Magistrate, Morigaon, Pranjit Gogoi, through an order issued on April 19, promulgated Section 144 of the CrPC, prohibiting overcrowding in small country boats and machine boats as well as their movement during heavy rain or storm in Morigaon district. Moreover, no boat will ply without suitable fitness and adequate precautionary measures.
Further, there is an apprehension that crowding, lack of fitness, and movement of boats during rain or storm may cause accidents.
The order has come into force with immediate effect and will continue till further orders, an official press release received from the District Information & Public Relations Officer, Morigaon, stated.
