KOKRAJHAR, Nov 6 � Keeping in view the likelihood of occurrence of group clashes and communal disturbances the new district magistrate of Kokrajhar, Thaneswar Malakar, has promulgated Sec 144 CrPC throughout the district.
Interacting with mediapersons here, he appealed to them for extending their helping hand for maintaining peace and brotherhood in the district. He also held discussion with the leading citizens of Kokrajhar.
On the other hand, the Lower Assam Commissioner, Sabbir Hussain on Monday visited Kokrajhar and held discussions with the District Election Officer and others regarding the progress of the revision of electoral rolls of Kokrajhar East LAC. Thaneswar Malakar, DC Kokrajhar, Naba Kr Sarania, MP, Lok Sabha, Pramila Rani Brahma, MLA, Kokrajhar East LAC among others attended the meeting.
