GUWAHATI, Sept 23 - The City Police has imposed prohibitory orders in the six police areas under the East Police District, Guwahati. �Some specified and unspecified persons or groups of persons or organisations/associations are likely to disturb the normal functioning of offices, movement of public and flow of traffic in East Police District, Guwahati, and it is apprehended that such groups of persons or organisations/associations are planning to carry out agitation/demonstration/shouting of slogans, which may cause breach of peace and public order and may cause disturbance/interruption of peaceful movement of public traffic and also normal functioning of offices in the above mentioned area.
�Therefore, in exercise of powers under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure 1973...do hereby prohibit assembly of more than five persons and procession and shouting of slogans in the entire East Police District, Guwahati, covering six police station areas under it,� said the order issued by the Deputy Commissioner of Police, East Police District, Guwahati.
