SEBA cancels Mazdia HSLC exam centre

BARPETA, Oct 4 � In a welcome move to check unfair means in the examination the Board of Secondary Education Assam has cancelled the Mazdia High School centre in Barpeta district of HSLC examination with effect from HSLC examination 2015. An order issued by JV N Subramanyam, chairman of the SEBA issued on September 18 last stated that several allegations were received against this centre in the last few years.

�Whereas it was also observed that the disturbing reports received from Inspector of Schools, Deputy Commissioner along with Supervising Officer, Zonal Officer engaged by SEBA office for supervision of Mazdia Examination Centre during the period of 2014 HSLC/AHM EXAMINATION, that mass copying was indulged in by the candidates and invigilators were only mute spectators to the unfair means adopted by the candidates,� the order stated and added that the board had deputed responsible officials to observe different sensitive and hyper sensitive centres including Mazdia Examination Centre and the official have reported adversely to the continuance of the examination centre.

The matter was placed before the examination committee of the board held on the September 16 last which unanimously passed a resolution to withdraw the Mazdia Examination Centre with effect from HSLC/AHM Examination 2015.

The examinees attached to this centre have been allotted to Bohori High School, Chenga Higher Secondary School and Nagaon Siksha Mandir High School for HSLC/ AHM examination 2015.

It must be mentioned here that several centres in Barpeta district are allegedly adopting unfair practices in the HSLC/AHM examination for years together.
