JORABAT, March 6 - In blatant disregard for the law, a brick kiln near Sonapur that was sealed by the administration for violating norms is still operating, residents have alleged.
The RNB brick kiln at Kurkuria under Sonapur revenue circle was sealed on February 7 for violating operational norms.
Residents and local organisations suspect foul play, and have questioned the administration as to how could the kiln continue its operations under the nose of the law enforcement authorities even after several complaints were filed against it. The residents also allege that Sonapur circle officer Dr Dhrubajyoti Hazarika has been repeatedly informed about the violation, but no action has been taken so far.
