GUWAHATI, June 6 - The Assam Science Society has mourned the death of former Vice Chancellor of the Gauhati University, Prof Jamini Mohan Choudhury.
Prof Choudhury breathed his last on June 1 due to old-age ailments.
A noted geologist, Prof Choudhury was associated with the Science Society and served it as president.
He had made a lot of contributions towards popularising science in the State and as an academician had made remarkable contributions, said the Science Society in a resolution of its condolence meeting held on June 3.
