GUWAHATI, Dec 4 � Regional Science Centre, Guwahati, is going to organise a State-level Science Fair on its premises in collaboration with the Directorate of Secondary Education, Govt of Assam, on January 10-12, a press release said.
The theme and sub-themes of this year�s Science Fair are as follows � Main theme: Science, Society and Environment; Sub-themes: (i) Agriculture and Food Security; (ii) Energy Resources and Conservation; (iii) Health; (iv) Environmental Issues and Concerns; (v) Mathematics in Everyday Life; (vi) Disaster Management; and (vii) Water Crisis and Management.
Interested schools are requested to contact their respective School Inspector/Central Board of Secondary Education for participating in the Science Fair. Only two models under any of the sub-themes comprising maximum 4 students from each district will be allowed to participate in the Science Fair. Each model can be presented by maximum two students studying up to Class-XII. All the participating models will be judged by a panel of judges.
The last date of receiving the names of the students along with details and sketch of their science projects duly forwarded by District Inspectors of Schools/Central Board of Secondary Education is December 24. Food and lodging will be provided to the participants during the exhibition period. Only one teacher will be allowed for escorting all the students from each district to this Centre for participating in Science Fair. To and from 2nd class railway/ordinary bus fare by the shortest route from the station to station shall be provided to the participants and their escort teacher on production of valid tickets.
Schools of greater Guwahati may directly contact the Regional Science Centre, Guwahati for participation in the Science Fair. Registration forms may be downloaded from the website www.rscguwahati. gov.in, the release added.
