GUWAHATI, Sept 22 � In view of the deteriorating weather conditions, the district administration instructed all public and private schools and college to declare a half-day today. The school and colleges would also remain closed tomorrow, and those having exams have been asked to reschedule the programme.
Assuring the people about precautionary and preventive measures to deal with the unprecedented rainfall and waterlogging in the city, the DC Kamrup (Metro) Dr M Angamuthu said that all senior officials and magistrates were constantly reviewing the situation in vulnerable places.
With the forecast about similar weather conditions persisting tomorrow, steps are being taken to evacuate the people living in severe flash flood-prone areas of the city.
