School Week inaugurated

DOOMDOOMA, Feb 12 - �The main characteristic of the 21st century is �fast and faster�. If we fail to cope up with this characteristic, we won�t be able to compete with the developed countries of the world in the coming days,� observed Dhiren Deka, president of Assam Science Writers� Association.

Inaugurating the 18th School Week of Modern Academy, an English medium school in the private sector situated at Topubon, Rupai Siding here, Deka urged the students to prepare themselves in such a way that they can face any kind of challenge in the future.

The inaugural session was also addressed by retired government education officer, author and the president of the management committee of the school, Jogendra Nath Baruah.

Earlier, the Principal of the school Prabhat Bikomiya Deori delivered the welcome speech.

The students and teachers of the school presented a few cultural items in the programme.

The inaugural programme was attended by a retired teacher from Arunachal Pradesh, GS Deori, besides a good number of parents and guardians.
