School student comes up with novel

DIBRUGARH, March 14 - A fictional novel titled, A Journey of Life and Death, which revolves around a cruise trip of siblings, has earned appreciation as the book is written by a 16-year-old Ishaan Saini, a student of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School here.

The book, best described as a mystery-thriller-adventure by the author himself, has been published by Damick Publications. The book was released today by Fr Alex Pulimootil, the Rector of the School and presented the first copy to Fr Neljen Antony, the Principal. The book release function organised by the school was attended by students, a galaxy of past pupils and office bearers of alumni association of the school. The event was also graced by several well-known doctors from Assam Medical College.

Ishaan Saini, an ardent reader of books recently appeared for his HSLC examination. He took nearly two years to complete the book. �Although I have taken up writing as a hobby now, the journey has been very complicated. I had conceived the idea in 2016. I began writing in 2017 but could not devote much time. I chose to write during holidays and vacations. In 2018, I could write only two chapters. Finally, my mother encouraged me to finish what I had started. So I accelerated my work in 2019 and finished it on September 13, 2019,� the author explained to this correspondent. Taking pride at the achievement of their student, Don Bosco Higher School congratulated the author for his literary talent and wished him all the best for his further endeavour.
