School inspection drive continues

GUWAHATI, April 8 � The Special Team formed by the Kamrup Metro district administration for inspection of schools, continued with its field visits for the third consecutive day today.

The team, led by Additional Deputy Commissioner Rajib Prakash Barua, first inspected Pragjyotish English Academy at Panbazar, said an official statement.

The team members went through details like condition of school buses, educational qualification of teachers, salary structure of staff, and so on.

A show cause was served to the institution after the team found that two buses of the school do not have proper fitness certificates.

Later, the team inspected Lysem High School at Dhirenpara and found that it is an underground school located in a vacant space below the ground floor of a building. The school also does not possess government registration.

The team issued a show cause notice to the school and directed the school authorities to submit details regarding building permission, electrical fitness, disaster management preparedness, besides education qualification of teachers and their salary details.
