School cricket gets off

GUWAHATI, May 12 - On the inaugural day of the 12th All Assam Inter School Cricket Tournament, organised by the River Rine Cricket Coaching Centre at the Latasil playground here today, Hindustani Kendriya Vidyalaya (HKV) defeated Noonmati Public School (NPS) by 11 runs while Guru Nanak High School prevailed over Ganesh Nagar High School by four wickets in two low scoring matches.

In the first match, in reply to HKV�s 93, Noonmati were all out for 82.

Ganesh Mandir boys were restricted to 81 and later Guru Nanak boys hammered 85 for six.

Brief scores: HKV 93 (Anup Bhujel 19; Gaurav Sangma 5/13, Hirak Baruah 2/26). NPS 82 (Rocket Swargiary 4/24, Gurpreet Singh 3/9, Deepak Singh 2/9).

Ganesh Nagar 81 (Abhishek Rajbhar 19; Parvez Musharaf 4/25, Aftab Hussain 2/21, Taufiq Alam 2/7). Guru Nanak HS 85/6 (Parvez Musharaf 48; Abhishek Rajbhar 2/10).
