School cricket at Tinsukia

TINSUKIA, April 29 � Don Bosco School emerged as the champions in the Tinsukia District Inter School (U-17) Cricket Tournament defeating Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya by 7 wickets in the final match played today at the Tinsukia District Sports Association�s (TDSA) Katchujan Field here.

Put into bat, VK Vidyalaya School was bundled out for 77 in 21.3 overs. Harsh Agarwal top scored with 23 runs while winning team�s Dipankar Rai claimed 4 wickets giving away only 6 runs.

In reply, Don Bosco boys crossed the target losing 3 wickets in 13.4 overs. Kunal Dhar scored 35 runs and all the 3 wickets of Don Bosco were claimed by Nabin Singh of VKV by giving away 25 runs.

Prizes were distributed by the president of TDSA, Juga Dutta and other office bearers. The tournament was organized by TDSA where 16 schools took part.
