NEW DELHI, Jan 18 - The Supreme Court today rejected the bail plea of former APSC chairman Rakesh Kumar Paul declining to interfere with the orders passed by the Gauhati High Court.

A Bench comprising Justices Madan B Lokur and Deepak Gupta said they are not inclined to interfere with the judgement passed by the high court. The special leave petition is dismissed, the order said.

On November 14, 2017, the Gauhati High Court had rejected the bail petition of Paul, the prime accused in the cash-for-job scam in the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC), which was filed in connection with a Bhangagarh PS case.
