SBI staff asked to go all out for digital banking

DIBRUGARH, April 25 - PVSLN Murty, the Chief General Manager of State Bank of India (SBI), North East Circle, today urged upon the Bank officials to move out to the open markets and rural areas to motivate people to adopt digital banking through Apps, POS machines and online methods.

CGM Murty was addressing the Bank officials during the inauguration of the new office venue of SBI�s Personal Banking branch and simultaneous opening of e-corner at Goshala campus in Chiring Chapori here today.

�Form teams and then move out to areas to create awareness of cashless transaction systems. Identify locations that have access to internet and then go for the digital literacy. You can also select a village to make them digital village. You can cover this village with CRS activities to encourage them to be a model village� he said.

Deputy Commissioner Laya Madduri also attended the programme. She urged upon the authorities of SBI to adopt villages and tea gardens to make them literate on cashless transactions. She asked the SBI officials to help the administration in converting the district into a digital district.

CGM Murty also inaugurated the new building of SBI branch in Assam Medical College and Hospital near TB Ward. He also paid a visit to the SBI Paltan Bazaar branch. The SBI also donated one computer set and a cheque of rupees 51000 under its CRS programme to Kalyan Ashram in Bagchipara. CGM Murty extended the donations. Om Prakash Mishra, General Manager, SBI, Northeast Circle (Network I) accompanied the CGM in all the programmes.
