SBI MD visits Mizoram

GUWAHATI, Oct 19 - Managing Director (NBG), SBI, B Sriram chaired the Special SLBC meeting for Mizoram at Aizawl recently, a SBI press release said.

In the high-level meeting which was attended by State Chief Minister Lal Thanhawla, RBI Governor Dr Raghuram Rajan, four Deputy Governors of RBI and Chief General Manager, SBI, NE Circle, PVSLN Murthy, several important issues in regard to banking activities of the State were discussed.

The meeting was also attended by senior bank executives and State Government officials. During the visit of Sriram, SBI donated a bus to the Christian Hospital, Serkawn and an ambulance to Synod Hospital under the scheme of corporate social responsibility.

In his speech during the donation programme, Sriram commended various welfare initiatives undertaken by the NGOs and other charitable institutions in Mizoram. He also said that the SBI as a responsible corporate citizen will continue to support such endeavours in future, the release said.
