SBI conclave on public relations

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Nov 8 - Addressing the SBI North East PR Conclave as the keynote speaker, Dr Amarjyoti Choudhury, Pro Vice Chancellor, Tezpur University, said that truthfulness is the foundation of public relations.

He recalled the storytelling abilities of Dr Bhupen Hazarika that mingled with the aspirations of the people and called him the master PR person. Public relations people are bridges, and bridges must be strong, was the message Dr Choudhury conveyed in the inaugural session that set the pace for the rest of the session that followed.

Dulal Choudhury, Regional Manager SBI, who was the guest of honour at the conclave held on Saturday at the NEDFi Convention Centre in the city, informed the participants that CSR formed a large chunk of all PR activities in SBI. He further stated that SBI does not do CSR activities as a one-time measure, rather the bank is focussed in doing things of continuous nature that would benefit the society for years to come.

The new issue of PRSI journal Seven Sisters was released by the dignitaries during the inaugural session. Welcoming the dignitaries and guests, Madhuchanda Adhikari, chairperson, PRSI Guwahati Chapter, presented a synopsis of the various activities undertaken by the chapter during the last one year.
