Sasha Choudhury acquitted in TADA case

GUWAHATI, Feb 14 � The Designated Court, Assam (Guwahati) today acquitted self-styled finance secretary of ULFA (pro-talk) Sasha Choudhury in connection with a TADA case.

The case was registered against ULFA members for allegedly demanding an amount of Rs 1 lakh from Dalim Gogoi, a resident of Anand Nagar, Bhangagarh. Police were also said to have recovered one M20 pistol from Sasha Choudhury.

Advocate Bijon Mahajan and associates appeared on behalf of the accused, which also included outfit�s general secretary Anup Chetia, who was subsequently released on bail and later declared absconder.

The case (TADA Session Case No 31/92) was registered under Section 385 IPC read with 3(3) TADA Act.
