Sarusajai Stadium ready to hold Gyanjyoti meet

GUWAHATI, Oct 29 � Over 1,100 students, along with teachers, guides, doctors and nurses, from 14 districts across Assam will participate in the Chief Minster's Gyanjyoti programme for 2013-14 which will be held at the Sarusajai Stadium here from October 31 to November 3.

A number of senior dignitaries will attend the inaugural function on the evening of October 31 and the Kamrup Metro district administration today said it has made all arrangements to make the four-day even a success.

The student participants will be taken for exposure visits to various locations across the city like the Guwahati Planetarium, Assam State Zoo, State Museum, IIT-Guwahati, State Secretariat, Accoland, Rajbhavan and Science Museum.

Apart from that there will be events like song and dance competition, extempore speech competition and quiz, followed by a cultural evening on November 3.

It is noteworthy that as a part of the programme in 2013, selected students were taken for exposure visits to places outside Assam.

This time also students will be selected through a test to be held on November 1 among the participating students in the Sarusajai Stadium for exposure visits outside the State in 2015.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will be present during the concluding ceremony on November 3 and interact with students.

Meanwhile, Kamrup Metro Deputy Commissioner Dr M Angamuthu today took stock of the arrangement along with senior officials.
