GUWAHATI, April 3 - N Sarbo Singh of Indian Railways lifted the Star Cement Mr Saraighat crown emerging champion in the RG Baruah Memorial, Classic Body Building Championship held at the Pragjyoti ITA, Centre here last evening.
The championship was organised by Saraighat Gym in association with Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association as per the guidelines of the Indian Body Builders Federation which is recognised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Govt of India and Sports Authority of India.
Altogether 37 international and national level body builders of IBBF participated in the championship.
The Sadin Asomiya Pratidin Mr Saraighat 2017 was held among the Assam players where Dipu Dutta of Jorhat won the title. Dilip Deuri of Barpeta and Sujit Boro of Assam Police came second and third respectively among the participants of Assam.
Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal distributed the prizes in the closing function while Agriculture Minister Atul Bora, who is also the president of the Assam Body Builders and Fitness Association, inaugurated the meet.
Top 10 position holders are: 1st � N Sarbo Singh (Railways), 2nd � Mahendra Chawan (Maharasthra), 3rd � Javed Ali Khan (Railways), 4th � KH Pritam (CRPF), 5th � Vijay Bahadur (Railways), 6th � Mohan Subramanam (Andra Pradesh), 7th � Hijbur Rahman (Delhi), 8th � Raju Khan (Delhi), 9th � Ravindra Kumar (CRPF), 10th � Lokesh Kumar (Uttar Pradesh).
