GUWAHATI, Jan 3 � Union Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today said that he would urge the Human Resource Development Ministry to introduce a system of marking for sports activities in the education curriculum.

He said that physical education teachers will be appointed in every educational institute to promote an environment of sporting activities.

Sonowal said that he aims to make sports a way of life and in order to make it happen, a number of schemes will be rolled out to improve sports infrastructure, especially in rural areas to encourage sporting talent.

�Let us make sports a way of life and use it for the nation-building process,� the Union minister said.

Interacting with media persons here, Sonowal said that the Sports Ministry is planning to connect the rural areas with sporting infrastructure and the Panchayat and Rural Development department will also be involved in it.
