GUWAHATI, Jan 24 A number of schools and colleges today celebrated Saraswati Puja, while others would revere the Goddess of learning in the early morning tomorrow. Saraswati puja is celebrated throughout the State with great traditional fervour and fanfare.

The revelry however, would extend to two days this year with confusion over the timings of the tithi of panchami that falls on Saturday and Sunday according to the Indian calendar.

Saraswati idols were brought to the puja mandaps followed by traditional worship and distribution of prasad. In Guwahati too, a number of schools and colleges celebrated the puja today. Many other institutions, however, were busy in last minute preparation to celebrate the puja tomorrow.
