KAZIRANGA SAMANWAY KSHETRA (Dergaon), Feb 8 - The four-day long 89th annual session of the Srimanta Sankardeva Sangha (SSS) is being held at the Kaziranga Samanway Kshetra in upper Assam�s Golaghat district since Wednesday concluded today.
In the last open discussion, religious contents were dealt by several invited guests.
Inaugurating the discussion, the general secretary of the SSS Babul Bora said that the Assamese is a rich language and Sankardeva rightly used the spirit of the language in his writings.
�The great Srimanta Sankardeva demonstrated his cultural arts in his writing. He taught the Assamese nation his philosophy for which we may term him as the �teacher of mankind.�
�The naamghar, a significant creation of Sankardeva is the centre of education, which we call at present distance education�, he added.
Delivering his speech as the appointed speaker Sonaram Bhagawati, the secretary of the publicity branch of the SSS said that Sankardeva would be the leader of all times in Assam. �His contributions towards the building of the nation can never be denied by anyone�, he said.
The meeting chaired by the Padadhikar (chief) of SSS was attended by the chief adviser of SSS Bhabendra Nath Deka and the secretary of Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Sudarshan Thakur.
The Deputy Padadhikar Basundhar Deka, minister Atul Bora, Hemlina Bora, Associate Professor of Zakir Hussain College, Delhi among others took part in the meeting.
The Padhadhikar declared the session as concluded and took down the flag which was then handed over to the Dibrugarh district branch of SSS to hold the 90th session in 2021.
