GUWAHATI, April 16 - Rajasthan Foundation organised Samanway Sanskriti Utsav at the Pragjyoti-ITA cultural complex today.

MP Bijoya Chakravarty attended the programme as chief guest, while former Minister Jagadish Bhuyan and sant of Vihangam Yoga, Kishan Lal were the guests of honour, a press release stated.

On the occasion, senior journalist and writer Kanak Sen Deka was conferred the Lifetime Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution in the field of literature and journalism. Sanwarmal Sanganeria received the Lifetime Achievement Award for literature, while Sankar Lal Goenka received the award for his contribution in the field of development of regional films, and Bimal Nahata received the same for his services in the social and religious fields.

The programme also felicitated Team Namami Brahmputra for successful holding of the event.

Another highlight of the function was the screening of two documentaries � one on legendary Assam warrior Lachit Barphukan and the other on the great warrior of Rajasthan, Balji-Bhurji.
