Samannay event held at Chirang

GUWAHATI, Dec 22 � To spread the message of love and harmony, �Samannay� � organised by Trend MMS with leading musicians of various tribes and communities regaled audience in Chirang, BTC on December 19. The first phase of Samannay event covered Nagaon, Guwahati, Sivasagar and Chirang and got a lot of positive support from public as well as media. Leading singers of various communities like Sulekha Basumatary, Tridib Basumatary of Bodo community, Tarulota Kutum of Mising community, Sajan Nayak of Tea tribe community, Phung Ning Ding, the Karbi rockstar, Bulbul Hussain, Jikir exponent provided electrifying performance along with Assamese music icon of Mumbai Joi Barua, Mausam Gogoi and Priyanka Bharali.

In Chirang, the event was organised in association with JSB Foundation at Alaikhungri Garden, Kajalgaon and was attended by thousands of people and people enjoyed upto midnight in a serene musical evening. Leaders of various communities like Kampa Borgoyari, Deputy Chief of BTC, Biswajit Rai, president Chilaray Sena, Mahan Murmu, president AASA, Madhab Chetry, vice-president, Gorkha Student Union, Pradip Dutta, Bengali Federation, Jaggu Hasada, Adivasi leader, Fazal Hoque, minority leader were seen dancing alongwith the public with the musical beats of Tarulota Kutum, Priyanka Bharali, Phung Ning Ding, Joi Barua and others.

Kampa Borgoyari, deputy chief of BTC, lauded the effort of �Samannay� and Shyamkanu Mahanta, the chief organiser for coming forward to reach out to BTC through music. He mentioned music can bridge the gap of mistrust and encourage harmony between various communities. He suggested that Samannay should be organised in other parts of BTC to reach out to all communities and to encourage brotherhood.

Shyamkanu Mahanta informed that the first phase of the project was done with corporate sponsorship by Star Cement, NRL, ONGC, SBI, Subham Builders, Bitchem, ITC, etc, whereas Janasanyog, Govt of Assam, provided publicity support. The second phase of the programme will start in the new year in various locations like Udalguri, Dhakuakhana, Diphu, Dhubri to spread of harmony and the ideals of Sankaradeva and Ajan Pir and requested support from all.
