AGARTALA, March 19 - Sale of delicious fishes in Kamalasagar-Tarapur border haat of Tripura is under consideration of Bangladesh Government, said Addl DM of Brahambari district of Bangladesh Dr Mahummod Sahanur Alam.

In view of the persistent demand by Indian side, a proposal of selling fish in Kamalasagar-Tarapur border haat was sent to Ministry of Commerce, Bangladesh Government for approval. If the government approves the plan, then Bangladeshi fish will be allowed to be sold in border haat. We want the trade must be a win-win situation for both sides, he said after a meeting with his Indian counterpart Addl DM (Sepahijala) Manik Lal Das on Saturday.

There has been growing demand for making Bangladeshi fish available at the border haat keeping in mind the increasign demand for this item. Although the trade volume is showing an upward trend in Kamalasgar-Tarapur border haat, Bangladeshi vendors are not finding it profitable because of the low demand of goods.

No decision was taken in the meeting for a change in the market day. It was decided in the meeting that market which is now on Sunday will continue as the Bangladesh side sought time to consider the matter, said an offical.

The Indo-Bangla Joint Border Management Committee meeting held at Kamalasagar BOP on Saturday, decided that security personnel will not be allowed to enter into the border haat with arms henceforth.
