GUWAHATI, Sept 20 - The State Finance Department has released six months� arrear amounts due to the State Government teachers, officers and employees payable to them because of the revision in their salaries. The revised pay was given effect from April 1, 2016 as per a March, 2017 decision of the State Government. Accordingly, the arrear amount against the revision in pay structure due to the teachers, officers and employees of the State Government was given effect from April, 2016 to March, 2017.
The first six months� installment for the period between April, 2016 and September 30, 2016 was released during the Rongali Bihu this year. This time, the arrears against the six months between October 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017, is being paid to the teachers, officers and employees of the State Government. The budget estimate made against this arrear amount was Rs 1500 crore, said Basab Kalita, president of the Sadou Asam Karmachari Parishad (SAKP).
