Salaguri Satradhikar invites PM to Batadrava

NAGAON, April 24 - To project Batadrava, the birth place of Srimanta Sankaradeva, as a heritage and religious tourist spot of the region, Satradhikar of Salaguri Satra Paramananda Dev Mahanta has invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi to pay a visit to this site.

He also demanded, among others, allotment of extra funds for the development of Batadrava Than, need to connect Batadrava Than from Guwahati via Marigaon through rail link, construction of a four lane from Nagaon to Batadrava, a 200-bed hospital at Batadrava, an educational institution like Santiniketan to propagate Vaishnavite culture, philosophy and religion, to bring back the Vrindavani Bastra and preserve it in Batadrava and declare a national holiday on the Tithi of Srimanta Sankaradeva.

These points are included in the invitation letter written by Satradhikar to the Prime Minister. Copy of this letter has been forwarded to Union Railway Minister of State, Rajen Gohain, Chairman of the Vision Plan Committee formed for development of Batadrava Than, Dr Rabin Dev Choudhury and local MLA Angurlata Deka.
