IMPHAL, Sept 10 - The Joint Action Committee (JAC) spearheading the current agitation in the State, has given a call for a 24-hour bandh in Sadar Hill area in Senapati district beginning midnight tonight including National Highway No 2 and a portion of Asian Highway No 1.
A press release issued by the convener of the JAC, formed by about 22 representatives of civil society organisations and villages, decided to call the bandh against the passage of three bills in the Manipur Assembly on August 31 terming them as anti-tribal and against the killing of nine protesters at Churachandpur. � PTI
