GUWAHATI, Sept 6 - Russian classic Dersu Uzala (The Hunter), directed by legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa, will be screened at the Guwahati Press Club at 5 pm on September 8.

The film is based on a story of an elderly guide, who was part of an exploration team in Russia�s Sikhote-Alin region in the 20th century.

Penned by Russian explorer Vladimir Arsenyev, the memoir narrates the story in a poetic style.

The 1975 Soviet-Japanese co-production has music by Isaak Shvarts and cinematography by Asakazu Nakai, Yuri Gantman and Fyodor Dobronravov. The cast include Maxim Munzuk and Yury Solomin.
