Rudreswar wins mini marathon

MANGALDAI, Sept 28 - Rudreswar Deka (42) of Burha won the Darrang Police organised Open Mini Marathon race with a timing of 30.21 minutes here today.

Hannan Ali (14) of Mangaldai Bandiya and Shiba Kr Deka (18) of Hazarikapara bagged the second and third position respectively. The Mini Marathon, covering a distance of 10 kilometres, being organised as a part of the celebration of forthcoming Assam Police Day on October 1. Around 300 runners, including officers and jawans of the Assam Police, other para military forces, civilians and media persons among others took part in the race.

Earlier, Sunil Kumar, SP, Darrang and Thaneswar Kalita, Additional District and Session Judge flagged off the race from Mangaldai Police reserve campus .

Biswanath Chariali Correspondent adds: As a part of Assam Police Day, a mini marathon was organised in the morning today by Biswanath Police.

The marathon began from the campus of Biswanath Chariali Police Station. Local MLA Pramod Borthakur flagged off the event while SP of Biswanath, Brajenjit Singha, ASP Jayanta Sarathi Borah, SDP Mouchumi Kalita, among others, were present on the occasion.
