GUWAHATI, Nov 18 - Industries & Commerce Minister Siddeqe Ahmed on Tuesday said that a rubber plant would be set up in Barak Valley.
Laying the foundation stone of Karimganj district Industries & Commerce office in Karimganj, the Minister said that State Government was trying to develop the infrastructure of industries in Barak Valley. An industrial estate will also be established in Karimganj district, he added.
An official release said that Ahmed urged the industrialists of neighboring Bangladesh to set up more industries in Karimganj district. The function organised in this connection was presided over by Sanjib Gohain Baruah, Deputy Commissioner, Karimganj. The meeting was addressed among others by Kamalakhya Dey Purkayastha, Parliamentary Secretary, Satu Roy, etc.
