RSC team first in national championship

GUWAHATI, Oct 26 - A team from Innovation Hub of the Regional Science Centre (RSC) Guwahati, secured the first prize in the National Championship of World Robot Olympiad (WRO) held at Netaji Indoor Stadium, Kolkata, on October 23-24.

The team participated in the �Open Senior High� category. The competition was held in six different categories.

Now the team, along with a few others from across the country, will represent India in the World Robot Olympiad to be held in New Delhi on November 26-27, where about 60 countries will participate.

The members of the team from Innovation Hub of RSC Guwahati included Sabuj Saikia and Kaustav Moni Malakar, both Class XI students of Maharishi Vidya Mandir Senior Secondary Public School, Silpukhuri, and Abinash Bhuyan, Class XI student of Gurukul Grammar Senior Secondary School, Geetanagar.

RSC Guwahati sponsored a total of five teams from its Innovation Hub for participation in the national competition of WRO held at Kolkata.

The WRO is being jointly organised by the National Council of Science Museums and India STEM Foundation.

It is an annual robotic event and is a competition for science, technology and education, which brings together the young people all over the world to develop their creativity and problem-solving skills through challenging and educational robotics competitions.
