GUWAHATI, Jan 22 � The Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for the election of candidates to the three Rajya Sabha seats from Assam, which will fall vacant on April 9, stated an official press release.
The last date for filing of nomination papers is January 28 and the scrutiny of nomination papers would take place on January 29. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is January 31.
The poll will be held on February 7 between 9am and 4pm. The election shall be completed before February 10, the release added.
