Rs 5 lakh given to young scientist by BTC chief

KOKRAJHAR, June 29 - BTC chief and BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary on Thursday handed over Rs 5 lakh to Subhasish Kar, a young scientist of Kokrajhar district who has recently developed a video-calling app called �Hollo Pic� that makes it possible for a 2D video to be made into 3D.

Hagrama Mohilary handed over two cheques of Rs 2.5 lakh each to Subhasish Kar from the BTC government and from Bodoland People�s Party (BPF) at a simple function at the BTC Secretariat, Kadamtola in Kokrajhar.

Hemendra Nath Brahma, former MLA and other invited guest and dignitaries also attended the programme. Speaking on the occasion, Mohilary said that the BTC government will try to provide every possible help to Subhasish Kar, who has made the region proud through his invention.

�My future plan is to set up my own company here and I am tying up with World�s No.1 London based VR Immersive Education Company. It will be totally based on advanced educational processes, Subhasish Kar said. He also thanked the BTC chief for providing financial assistance for his achievement.

It may be mentioned here that Subhasish Kar, son of Sujoy Kar of Joynagar under Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar is presently studying at the Haldia Institute of Technology in West-Bengal.
