Diphu, March 4: Soon after the model code of conduct was enforced for the ensuing State Assembly election, Rs 2,50,000 was seized by a state surveillance team in Karbi Anglong.
According to sources, Rs 2,50,000 was seized from one Md Mainul Islam while he was travelling in a bus from Dimapur to Nagaon during a random checking conducted by the state surveillance team at Dillai police check gate under Bokajan subdivision.
According to election guidelines, any individuals with Rs 50,000 or more in their possession must produce valid documents as proof.
