RPRS programme held in Kamrup district

MIRZA, Jan 7 � The Kamrup district administration launched a major campaign among the masses through its flagship programme � Raijor Padulit Raijor Sarkar ( RPRS) � from January 5 to 8 with a four-day-long programme in all the 139 gaon panchayats under the district in a bid to create awareness among the masses about various government programmes.

Official sources said that the main objectives of the RPRS campaign was to highlight various developmental initiatives launched by the Government and redress the grievances of the general populace, stated a press release issued by DIPRO, Kamrup.

Official sources said that as a part of the campaign, every gaon panchayats (GP) under the Kamrup district organised gaon sabhas (village meetings) in their respective GPs and district administration asked the people in general to participate in their respective gaon sabhas in order to redress their grievances on the spot.

On Tuesday, over 50 gaon panchayats under Kamrup district including Bejortary GP, Satpokhali GP and Dahali Dakhala GP under Rampur Development block, Champaknagar GP under Chhaygon Development block, Birogaon GP, Khalpur GP and Haropara GP under Chayani Borduar Development Block, Dakhin Boko, Pub Bekeli and South Luki GPs under Boko Development block, South Bongaon GP under Bongaon Development block, Rudrasagar and Saraighat GPs under Bezera Development Block, Rongeswari, Chamariapam , Baruagaon and Pijupara GPs under Chamaria Development Block, Batahidia and Jorsimili GP under Goroimari Development Block, Bihdia Bidata and Luts GPs under Bihdia -Jajikona Development Block, Puthimari, Sonapur and Madartola GPs under Kamalpur Development Block , No 2 Hajo , Swahid Satyanath , Khetri Hardia, Bangalpara and Pub Satdola GPs under Hajo Development Block, Baidyanagar, Bordol, Bishnupur Balisatra and Dimu Dobak GPs under Rangia Development Block and Pacharia GP and a few other GPs under Sualkuchi Development Block in Kamrup district organised gram sabhas in their respective gaon panchayats with a day-long programme in which officials from Health, Social Welfare, Panchayat & Rural Development, Education and Public Helath Engineering departments attended and interacted with the people.

Official sources said that Deputy Commissioner, Kamrup, Dr J Balaji himself and his senior officials are involved in launching the campaign among the masses and the DC, Kamrup, has attended several meetings held at different gaon panchayats, including Uparhali Gaon Panchayat in Palasbari LAC under the district.

Addressing the gatherings at Swahid Satyanath Gaon Panchayat, the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Kamrup, Bishnu Kumar Baruah has said on Tuesday that five departments namely the Panchayat & Rural Development, Education, Social Welfare, Public Health Engineering and Health have been involved in the RPRS campaign. Palasbari Revenue Circle Officer, Kamaljit Talukdar, also attended a meeting held at Dahali Dakhala GP under Rampur Development block where more than 400 people submitted applications, asking for solution of their problems.

Assistant Project Officer, DRDA, Ganesh Deka and BDO, Rampur, Pratima Baruah on Tuesday attended a gram sabha organised by the Satpokhali-Tejpur GP at Satpokhali and several persons from the public highlighted their grievances. Official sources said that BDO, Sualkuchi Development Block, Prabin Saikia also attended a gram sabha organised by Pacharia GP in Kamrup district on Tuesday in which officials from various departments interacted with the people.
