Roy, Pegu asked to supervise relief

GUWAHATI, Sept 27 � Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today directed Minister for Public Health Engineering Gautam Roy and Minister for Water Resources Rajib Lochan Pegu to undertake a tour of the flood-affected areas in Kamrup and Goalpara districts to take stock of the prevailing situation there, said an official press release.

The Chief Minister asked them to inspect the relief camps sheltering the flood-affected people to oversee the arrangements made by the district administrations of Kamrup and Goalpara.

He asked them also to interact with the camp inmates to get their feedback as to whether they were getting regular supply of gratuitous relief materials, including food for the infants. The Ministers have been asked to supervise the staying conditions in the relief camps, including sanitation and drinking water.

The Chief Minister asked the Ministers to make an assessment of the situation and to report to him for further necessary action, the press release added.
