Rock climbing camp ends

GUWAHATI, May 12 � The annual Basic Rock Climbing and Trekking Training Camp, organised by the Directorate of Sports and Youth Welfare, came to an end today at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium here.

The camp started on May 6, where 47 trainees from 12 districts took part.

Different skills of rock climbing and adventure sports were trained by experienced trainers during the week-long camp. The camp was organised in-and-around the city, Morigaon and 4th AP Bn Battalion campus. Consultant of the Assam Institute of Mountaineering and Adventure Sports HS Chouhan also imparted training along with Everester Tarun Saikia and Manish Deka.

In the closing function today, certificates were distributed to the participants. Commissioner and Secretary of Sports Department Ajay Tiwari and Director of Sports Anjan Sarma handed over the certificates.
