GUWAHATI, June 15 - Vivanta Guwahati organised the Tata Road Safety Awareness Programme today in collaboration with the Guwahati Traffic Police to create and bring awareness about traffic rules and regulations among its hotel staff and the citizens of Guwahati.
A rally was taken out by the staff of the hotel, wearing reflecting safety jackets along with Dispur traffic police carrying placards and banners.
�Citizens� participation was encouraged, whereby passers-by in cars and two wheelers were checked if they were adhering to rules such as wearing helmets, seat belts, not talking on the mobile phone, etc. Citizens were awarded chocolates as tokens of appreciation for being good traffic citizens, with the message that they would continue to do so and inspire more people to be conscious of traffic rules and regulations and its related issues,� the organisers said.
A talk on good traffic practices and sense was also given by Khagen Saikia, traffic in-charge of Dispur Police Station to the staff of the hotel.
