SHILLONG, Aug 8 � The Joint Action Committe, comprising several NGOs, has called a night road blockade in Ri-Bhoi district from 7 pm tomorrow to 5 am the next day protesting the Scheduled Tribe status accorded to Margnar community in the district.
The State government has recently accorded ST status to the Margnar community, which the NGOs say should be stripped of, as the community is not a local indigenious tribe of the State.
