GUWAHATI, Aug 21 - A meeting was held recently here between NF Railway and the Government of Assam on the issue of construction of road overbridges (ROBs) to replace the existing level crossing gates.
While the State government delegation was led by Finance and PWD Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, the Railway side was led by Rajen Gohain, Minister of State of Railways, at the meeting, said an official statement issued today.
There are 53 level crossing gates in Assam which qualify for replacement with ROBs on 50:50 cost sharing basis.
During the course of the meeting, it was decided that although the cost of construction will be shared by both sides, either the State government or NF Railway will undertake construction of some ROBs on �single entity basis�.
