DIMAPUR, March 5 - The office of NDPP-BJP Chief Ministerial candidate Neiphiu Rio has strongly refuted a quote attributed to the latter that the �Naga peace agreement will be signed on August 10� which reportedly appeared in a section of the media and is being widely circulated on social media platforms as well.
�Such news items are bereft of any truth and far from the ethics of journalism as Shri Neiphiu Rio has never made any such statement on any occasion or in any interview and therefore, this false report is only meant to mislead the people,� said the office of Rio.
It then stated that the Naga political issue is a sensitive issue and �therefore, it is requested to one and all to refrain from concocting and circulating such fabricated reports without verifying the same as it is not in the interest or welfare of the people.�
