Rio inaugurates helipad in Mon

DIMAPUR, Jan 6 � Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio on Saturday inaugurated the new helipad at Changlanshu village under Tobu sub-division in Mon district and unveiled the Changlangshu Village Education Heritage Monolith.

Rio also graced the 29th Tobu Area Students Union general session and sports meet as the chief guest at Changlanshu village during the his visit.

In his address, Rio urged upon the student community to lead a healthy lifestyle and inculcate positive habits and make every effort to develop their own capacities as the youth are the hope and future of our society.

Emphasising the fact that human resource development is the most vital aspect for the progress of any society, he said youth must have the constant endeavour to upgrade and improve their capacity. He also pointed out that development goals can be realised only if human resource development is on the right track.

Highlighting some of the key government programmes, the CM said youth empowerment policies and a comprehensive Nagaland Sports Policy have ensured avenues and vistas for the youth of Nagaland to strive towards their aspirations.

Recalling his last visit to the village in 2007, Rio stated that in about five years he could see several developmental changes in Changlanshu, especially in improved rural housing. He observed that during his last visit, most of the houses and homes had been thatched, but said better housing facilities and widespread use of CGI sheets could be seen now.
