Rich tributes paid to Dr Amalendu Guha

GUWAHATI, May 17 � Historian, social scientist and poet Dr Amalendu Guha was fondly remembered by his close associates and admirers in a memorial meet held at Rabindra Bhawan here on Saturday. Participated in large numbers by eminent personalities as well as a host of people belonging to different strata of the society, the meet discussed at length different sides of the multifaceted personality of Dr Guha who passed away on May 7. Remembering Dr Guha as a torchbearer in the field of history writing, Dr Hiren Gohain, who also presided over the meeting, said that an in-depth analysis of his scholarly writings is a must to find new dimensions of social issues of the State.
